Privacy Policy
Data Storage & Control
Your sensitive progress data ("Quit Data") is stored by default exclusively on your mobile device. If you choose to use the optional Cloud Sync feature (via Google Sign-In), your data will be securely synced to your private cloud account for backup and multi-device access. You retain full ownership and can delete your account or local data at any time.
Data Categories & Usage
Health & Cessation Data (Health Disclosure):
The Application collects your smoking logs, craving records, FTND addiction test results, and emotional journal entries. This data is pseudonymized and stored using AES-GCM-256 encryption in your private cloud account. This data is not purely anonymous but is protected with industry-standard security protocols.
Personal Identity Information:
When using Google Sign-In, your name and email address are collected to verify your account, provide Cloud Sync functionality, and offer technical support.
Information Collection and Use
The Application acquires the information you supply when you download and register the Application. Registration with the Service Provider is not mandatory. However, you might not be able to utilize some of the features offered by the Application (like cloud backup) unless you register.
Automatically Collected Information
The Application may collect certain information automatically, including:
- The type of mobile device and unique device ID
- The IP address of your mobile device
- Your mobile operating system
- The type of mobile Internet browsers you use
- Your device's Advertising ID (e.g., AdMob AdID)
- Information about the way you use the Application
Algorithmic Analysis & CBT
The Application uses rule-based algorithms and statistical analysis to detect 10 key cognitive distortions in your CBT journal entries. Your personal data is not sent to external AI models or profiling engines for this purpose; the analysis is performed strictly through our predefined rule sets.
Third-Party Services
Data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid in improving the Application. The Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policies:
During the use of RevenueCat, your Firebase UID is transmitted for subscription verification. During the use of AdMob, approximate location data via your IP address may be used for ad targeting. Financial data (exchange rates, etc.) is sourced from TCMB EVDS via our secure cloud servers; no personal data is transmitted.
Disclosure to Third Parties
The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
- As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
- When they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- With their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
Opt-out Rights
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
Children
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us so that we can delete such information from our servers.
Payments & Subscriptions
For any premium features or subscriptions purchased within the Application, all payment processing is handled exclusively by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The Service Provider does not collect, process, or store your credit card or financial information. We use RevenueCat to manage and verify your subscription status.
Security
We provide procedural safeguards to protect the information we process. For example, all data transmitted to third-party services is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols.
KVKK / GDPR Rights
As a data subject, you have the right to access your data, request correction, request deletion (right to be forgotten), and object to data processing activities. You can exercise these rights directly within the app (Settings > Danger Zone > Delete Account), by writing to info@myquitbook.com, or by using the data deletion form below.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
Data Retention & Deletion
The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application. Automatically Collected information is retained for up to 24 months. You can request deletion directly within the app (Settings > Danger Zone > Delete Account), via info@myquitbook.com or the form below.
